What makes me smile...

I just adore making those cute little infant babies things. It makes me smile during the whole creative and production process. I wish I could warm up all the little feet all over the world with my felted booties :) They are not only cute, but has a number of advantages compared to other synthetically shoes and hats. Unique properties of the natural wool lets the small feet breath. Wool also has an ability to absorb and push away the moisture. Because of that features wool fibers let feet does not feel cold in winter and hot in summer. Even when it's warm outside, feet or head will not sweat. They can be worn all the year.

Violet liverleafs on little feet/ Žibuoklės ant mažųjų pėdučių

This time I've tryed to make booties in different way. I was experimenting on making sewing  pattern of little shoes a while ago. Pattern was cutted out of already felted piece of soft pink felt and sewn by hand with small stiches. 

Decorated with violet leverleafs flowers made of felted wool too. Organza ribbons and latex sole on the bottom for safe first steps. 

Šį kartą batukus dariau kitaip nei visada- jau kurį laiką eksperimentavau su batukų iškarpomis. Detales pagal lekaliukus iškirpau iš jau suvelto veltinio gabalo ir rankomis mažais dygsneliais susiuvau. Dekoravau violetiniais žibuoklių žiedukais iš veltinio, organzos raišteliai- kad mažulka patogiai nešiotų ir napamestų ir padukus padengiau lateksu, kad pirmieji žingsniukai būtų saugūs.

New beginning

Senokai berašiau blog'e, bet tikrai ne dėl to, kad tingėjau. Tiesiog ruduo ir žiema buvo labai aktyvūs ir užimti. Kovo pradžioje susilaukėm naujo šeimos nario- Domuko, kurio nuotraukomis noriu čia pasidalinti. Mano naujasis modeliukas.

It's been a long time since I posted some news on my blog. The autumn and winter  was very active and busy for me. In the beginning of March I became a mother again. Now I'm a mummy of two wonderful boys. In this post I want to share some pictures of our new member of family-Domis

Felted baby booties with knitted bootleg

Those little baby booties are made from soft wool using wet felting technique and have a handknitted bootleg from nondyed natural color wool yarn.The knitted part of the bootie keeps it tight on the feet.

The length inside shoe is 12cm or 4.7in. European size 19-20, US 4-5. It could fit to baby age aprox. 6-12months.

Prieš iškeliaujant kepurytėms iš namų, norėjau jas įamžinti. Mano išdykėlis mėgsta fotografuotis, bet būtinai reikia maivytis, strakalioti, primerkti akį ar bent jau išsiviepti... keletą nuotraukų pavyko atrinti kuriose jis nepabėgęs iš kadro.
